After a long bus ride to Western Mass aka farm town, we made it to UMass Amherst. With plenty of time to prepare, we were able to get some good touches on the ball. The Minutewomen proved to be worthy of their #11 ranking. Although we had many opportunities to score with shots and corners we were unable to convert any into goals. It was an off day for our usually active offense and strong defense. With a final score of 4-0 in favor of the Minutewomen, we were ready to eat away the loss at the tailgate. Emotional eating ensued: chocolate cupcakes with red frosting were just what the doctor ordered. On Monday we worked extra hard to get back to our standard of play. We are now refocused and ready to start our conference play this weekend against ODU and William and Mary. GO NU!

- Northeastern University is an integral part of the New England sports community, fielding 18 varsity teams in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I sports as well as other teams and individuals in national and international arenas. The men's and women's hockey teams compete in Hockey East, the nation's premier league, while the men's and women's rowing teams compete in the Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges (EARC) and Eastern Association of Women's Rowing Colleges (EAWRC), respectively. The Hockey East Association is consistently labeled the strongest men's hockey conference in the nation from top to bottom.
